Tag system PDF Print E-mail

In your template, in your Newsletters, in your AutoResponders or in your SmartNewsletter, you can integrate tags. A tag is a sentence that Acajoom will automatically replace when it saves or sends your e-mail. You can place any tag anywhere in your e-mail.

If Acajoom doesn't show or replace your tag, that means the Acajoom Mambot (for Joomla 1.0.x) or the Acajoom Plugin (for Joomla 1.5.x) is not installed or not published on your website. You can download it and install with the Joomla installer.

You will find in this article all Acajoom tags and how to use it.

[SUBSCRIPTIONS]

The most important tag is the tag :  [SUBSCRIPTIONS].

We hightly recommend you to include this tag directly in your template because you will have to include this tag in all your Newsletters. When you send the Newsletter, this tag will be replaced by two personnal links :

change the subscription
unsubscribe

If the user clicks on one of this link, he will be directly redirected to your website and will be able to unsubscribe and change his subscription. To send a legal Newsletter, you have to provide an easy way to unsubscribe, that's why even if you don't write this tag, Acajoom will automatically add it to your Newsletter.

Since Acajoom 2.0.x, those two links are included in a span with class= "subscriptionlink_nws" so you can customize the links with this style class.

This subscriptions tags are replaced if you send a Newsletter, but the subscription links won't work if it's a simple test (sent from the preview page).

[CONFIRM]

This creates a clickable link where the subscriber can confirm their subscription. This is required to make Acajoom work properly when you send a confirmation e-mail.

[NAME]

The tag [NAME] will be replaced by the name of the user when Acajoom send your Newsletter. You can place this tag in the subject of your e-mail to personnalize it.

Example : 'Hello [NAME], how are you?'

[FIRSTNAME]

The tag [FIRSTNAME] will be replaced by the first part of the name entered by the subscriber.

For example, if a user subscribes to your Mailing list with the name : John Lenon, the firstname will be John.

[ISSUENB]

This tag will be replace the issue number of the newsletter (Only for a SmartNewsletter or an Autoresponder).

[DATE]

This tag will be replaced by the sent date of your e-mail (Only for a SmartNewsletter or an Autoresponder).

[CBTAG:{field_name}]

With Acajoom PRO, you can include any information from Community Builder if your user is a registered user.

The tag [CBTAG:{field_name}] will be replaced by the value of the field 'field_name' taken form the Community Builder informations about this receiver.

Simply replace {field_name} by the name of the field in Community Builder.

Example : [CBTAG:firstname] or [CBTAG:lastname] or [CBTAG:middlename] ...

Content

Content tag

You can include any Joomla content in your Newsletter by using our interface to generate the content tag. Once you selected the article and the sort of information you want to include, copy/paste the generated tag in your Newsletter and Acajoom will replace this tag as soon as you save and re-open your Newsletter.

There is several options to include your Joomla content in the Newsletter : you can include the full article, the introduction only or the title only.

Since Acajoom 2.0.x, we include the Joomla content in a div with class="contentpaneopen_nws" so you can easily use your CSS stylesheet.

We also include the title of the Content in a span with class="contentheading_nws".

And Acajoom includes the 'Read more link' in a span with class="readon_nws".

So you can customize the look of your Content with the Acajoom Mambot/Plugin

jCalPro Event

jCalPro tag

Since Acajoom 2.0.x, you can include events from jCalPro with our PRO Version. To see this new tab when you edit a Newsletter, you have to enable it in your Acajoom configuration page, tab 'miscellaneous'.

Simply select the category of the event using our interface, select the event you want to include in your Newsletter, configure the options (if you want to add a 'read more link' ,the description of the event, the start date of the event...) and copy/paste the generated tag in your Newsletter.

Acajoom will include this Event when you save and re-open your Newsletter or if you directly send it.

The entire event will be included in a div with class="eventpaneopen_nws" .

The title of the event is included in a span with class="eventheading_nws" .

And Acajoom includes the 'Read more link' in a span with class="readon_nws".

So you can customize the look of your event with the Acajoom Mambot/Plugin .

Other Joomla tags

During the send process, Acajoom will use the Joomla Plugin system to be able to replace any tag in the Newsletter (like Joomla does for any Content).

Nevertheless, due to some compatibility problems, we decided to don't include the general Acajoom Plugin directly into the package but give the possibility to the user to install it separately.
You can download the Acajoom Compatibility Plugin on our download page and install it like a default Joomla Plugin (called 'Joomla Mambot' for Joomla 1.0.x).

Using this plugin, you will be able to include any tag in your Newsletter from other components and they will be replaced properly. Like using the mosloadposition tag or any other... So you will be able to include a module into your Newsletter.

Nevertheless, if you have problems using this plugin due to some other components, I recommend you to develop your own Acajoom Plugin that will be triggered during the send process.
The type of the function must be "acajoombot_transformall".
