Install process for Joomla 1.0.x

• Log in on the Joomla backend
• Click on the menu ‘Installers -> Components’
• Select the Acajoom package using the browse button
• Click on ‘Upload File & Install’
• Wait… the install process can take more than 1 minute
• Verify that the Acajoom Module and the Acajoom Mambot are installed
  
• You are all set to start with Acajoom!

Install process for Joomla 1.5.x

(Acajoom is compatible with Joomla 1.5 native but works as well with the legacy mode)

• Click on the menu ‘Extensions -> Install/Uninstall’
• Select the Acajoom package using the browse button
• Click on ‘Upload File & Install’
• Wait… the install process can take more than 1 minute
• Verify that the Acajoom Module and the Acajoom Plugin are installed
• You are all set to start with Acajoom!

Acajoom license

To use all the Acajoom features in our commercial versions, you have to validate your license.
One Acajoom license is available for only one website. So if you want to install Acajoom on a test website, DO NOT VALIDATE YOUR LICENSE ON YOUR TEST WEBSITE. You will be able to install Acajoom, use the Acajoom module, customize and configure the module, subscribe users, create Mailing Lists, manage your users, create Newsletters, send a test Newsletter... the entire component will work except the cron task and you will be able to validate your license once Acajoom goes on your live website.

You can download the latest version of Acajoom News (free version) on our homepage at http://www.acajoom.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/ .

Enter your name and your e-mail in the fields (top right of the page) and click on the button ‘Download Now’.

For our commercial versions, please contact our support team using the ‘Contact’ menu on our Website and provide them with the green information in your Acajoom license tab (Configuration page).

After having checked your license and the maintenance contract, our team will be able to send you the latest version of Acajoom.

If you do not have the maintenance you can purchase a one year maintenance contract for our PRO version : Maintenance contract for Acajoom PRO .
Or for our Plus version : Maintenance contract for Acajoom Plus .
 

The upgrade process is very easy for our three versions (Acajoom News, Plus and PRO) and between those three versions (you can easily switch from Acajoom News to Acajoom PRO).

• Simply uninstall the previous version.
• Verify that all files are removed.
• Reinstall the new version.

You can do that procedure safely. This procedure will keep all your data in integrity in the database (Acajoom will keep your settings, your subscribers, lists, Newsletters…).
The only thing you will have to reconfigure is your Acajoom module (the module showed on the Frontend).

If you upgrade from Acajoom 1.2.9 or a previous version :

Since Acajoom 1.2.9, we changed a feature between Template and Content.

So, you have to rewrite all your Newsletters, Smart-Newsletters and AutoResponders (a simple copy/paste from the template (in your list configuration) to the e-mail).

You can see that your template is loaded when you create your e-mail! It's easier to write a beautiful mailing... But the content tag ( [content] ) is not useful any more. 

So every time you see the [content] tag, Acajoom won't replace it (you can erase this tag).

If you don't really understand what we mean, try to create a new Newsletter and I'm sure it will be clearer.
