How to configure your Acajoom module PDF Print E-mail

When you install any Acajoom package (free, Plus or PRO), the component and the module are automatically installed (if not, you can install it separately ).

You can publish the Acajoom module on your website so your visitors can subscribe to one or more Acajoom lists of users.

As all Joomla modules, you can configure it if you click on the menu ‘Modules -> Site modules’.

Acajoom module

By default, the Acajoom module is not published so you first have to publish this module (called ‘Acajoom Suscriber Module’ by default) and show it on one or more pages on your site (edit your Acajoom module and configure the fields ‘Published’ and ‘Menu Item Link(s)’)

Your Acajoom module is now published and you can see it on one or more pages on your website.

You can personalize the Acajoom module with all the options you can see when you edit this module.

The first field ‘List IDs’ is the most important field when you configure your module. By default, the value of this field is ‘0’, that means, if a visitor subscribes to your module, this user will be subscribed to all your lists.

But if you created more than one list with Acajoom, you can configure the module so the visitor will be subscribed only to one list. In this case, you have to enter the ‘id number’ of the lists you wish to allow users to subscribe to, separated by a comma.

For example, I created three Newsletters lists with Acajoom (‘my visitor list’, ‘my full list’ and ‘my own list’) but I only want a visitor to be able to subscribe to ‘my visitor list’ with the module. So I copy the ‘id number’ of the list ‘my visitor list’ (in the ‘list’ page) and paste this number in this first field ‘List IDs’. List IDs : 1

For example, I created three Newsletters lists with Acajoom (‘my visitor list’, ‘my full list’ and ‘my own list’) but I only want the visitor to be able to subscribe to ‘my visitor list’ and ‘my full list’ with the module. So I copy the ‘id number’ of the list ‘my visitor list’ and of the list ‘my full list’ (in the ‘list’ page) and paste those numbers in this first field ‘List IDs’ separated by a comma. List IDs : 1,2

The second field is called ‘Redirect URL’. In this field, you will be able to specify the URL where you want the user to be redirected after he have been subscribed. If not specified, it will redirect automatically to the user subscription form.

For example, I have published my Acajoom module and I want the user to be redirected to a ‘thank you page’ after he clicked on the subscribe button. I write in this field the URL of my ‘thank you page’. Redirect URL : http://www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2&Itemid=1

If you generated an external form with Acajoom PRO, you can add a redirect link by adding this code in your form:
<input name="redirectlink" value=”http://www.theRedirectLink.comtype="hidden" />

(don't forget to replace http://www.theRedirectLink.com by the url your own redirect url)
You can add this line just below the code:
<input type="hidden" name="act" value="subscribe" />

This can be a powerful option if you want to use Acajoom on several sites. You can install only one Acajoom PRO on your main site but generate several forms with different option and add different redirect link to be able to place all those forms on other sites.

The option ‘Show module in line’ is a standard option for all Joomla modules. You can choose how you want to show your module, in line or with a vertical presentation. Select ‘No’ for a vertical presentation, ‘Yes’ to show your module in a line.

The ‘introduction text’ field allows you to add text before the module. This field accepts HTML code, so you can add images (with the code <scr img= ‘http://www.yoursite.com/myimage’> ), text, video… anything you want to add before the module. You can customize this field with CSS, this field will appears in a span with the class ‘pretext’ (<span class="pretext">…</span>) so you can add CSS on this field like:

span.pretext {

            text-align : center;

            font-size : 11pt;

            color : #9966FF;

            text-decoration : none;

            font-style : italic;

            font-family : Georgia, "New Roman";

            background-color : #ffffff;

}

The field ‘Show List Name’ allows you to hide or not all your lists in this module. If you select ‘Yes’, the user will see your lists in this module and will be able to select or not the lists he wants to subscribe. If you select ‘No’, all the lists you added to the module will be hidden and your users won’t see any lists. In this case, they will be automatically added to those lists if you selected ‘Yes’ for the next field: ‘Check list by default’.

You have the possibility of showing one or more lists and hide other lists in the module. To do that, you need to select the option ‘Yes’ for the field ‘Check list by default’ and the option ‘Yes’ for the field ‘Show List Name’. All your lists will be visible in your module accept lists you configured with ‘Visible in frontend’ : ‘No’. You can configure this option for each list in the Acajoom ‘list’ page (Edit a list and select ‘No’ for the option ‘Visible in frontend’).

For example, I created three Newsletters lists with Acajoom (‘my visitor list’, ‘my full list’ and ‘my own list’) but I only want the visitor to be able to subscribe to ‘my visitor list’ (I will give the option to the user) and I want the user to be automatically subscribed to ‘my full list’. So I copy the ‘id number’ of the list ‘my visitor list’ and of the list ‘my full list’ (in the ‘list’ page) and paste those numbers in this first field ‘List IDs’ separated by a comma. List IDs : 1,2. Then, I edit my list ‘my full list’ and select the option Visible in frontend’ : ‘No’. In the Acajoom module, I select the option Check list by default’ : ‘Yes’ and ‘Show List Name’ : ‘Yes’.

The field ‘Check list by defaultallows you to check by default or not the check boxes for each list. You have to select this option to ‘Yes’ if you hide one or more lists.

The field ‘Show Name Field’ allows you to add or not a name field in your Acajoom module. If you select the option ‘No’ for this field, you will only have one field for the e-mail in your module. But, if you don’t show the name field, that means you won’t be able to use the tag to add a name in your Newsletter because you won’t have any value for each user.

The field ‘Field size’ allows you to specify the width for the fields name and e-mail. Sometimes the default value 10 is too big for your template, you can specify in this field a different value to reduce the size of your fields in your module.

The field ‘Post-Text’ allows you to add HTML code after the module. It’s the exact same thing as the field ‘Introduction text’ but the text is showed below the module. This field is customizable with CSS with a span with class ‘postext’.

The field ‘Default Receive HTMLallows you to set the option ‘Receive Html’ to Html or Text by default.

With the field ‘Show Receive HTML’, you will be able to choice if you want to show this option or not in your module. If you don’t show this option in your module, Acajoom will subscribe your users using the option you selected for the field ‘Default Receive HTML’.

The field ‘Button Unregistered Text’ allows you to specify an other text on the subscribe button for your unregistered users. By default in English, you can see the text ‘Subscribe’ on this button but you can personalize this text with this field.

For example, on our site http://www.acajoom.com, you can see the text ‘Download’ on our Acajoom module.

If you don’t want to show a text on this button but you prefer showing a picture, you can specify the url of this image in the field ‘Button Unregistered Image’. Acajoom won’t show a standard button with a text in the module but will show this image for non registered users.

For example, you can have the standard Joomla image ‘Apply’ in your module if you enter the text ‘images/apply_f2.png‘ in the module:

Button Unregistered Image : images/apply_f2.png

The next two fields (Button Registered Text’ and ‘Button Registered Image) are exactly the same than ‘Button Unregistered Text’ and ‘Button Unregistered Image’ except that it will show only for your registered users.

The next field called ‘Module Class Suffix’ will be useful to customize your module with CSS. You can specify a class and this class will be applied to your entire module.

For example, if I specify the text ‘myAcaModule’ in this field, my entire Acajoom form will be included in a div with class= myAcaModule. That means I will be able to write CSS like div.myAcaModule {…} to customize the global div for the module. And, my entire Acajoom module will be included in a div with class=moduletableMyAcaModule. So you have two levels to be able to customize the module.

The field ‘Module alignment’ allows you to set up a specific alignment for the entire module, Right, Center, Left or No alignment.

Then the field ‘Enable Cache’ allows you to cache the content of this module.

You can duplicate the Acajoom module so you can configure differently more than one module on your website. (Select the Acajoom module and click on the button ‘Duplicate’).
