The purpose of the Joobi logo design contest is to create a logo and site template to convey the branding of Joobi,  a newly created organization, which focus on creating Joomla components.

Who is Joobi?
We have created Acajoom News component (www.acajoom.com) and have learned a lot from that experience.  We want to take that experience to the next level and and share with the Joomla community our expertise by providing a suite of internet tools (Joomla components) both free and commercial versions. 

Our Purpose
Joobi is focusing on providing high quality components for the Joomla CMS.  We want to provide individuals, non-profits organizations and small businesses with internet tools which will give them the power and presence of corporations.

How can you participate?
The contest is open to anyone.  To enter the contest you will design a logo and/or a template for Joobi based on the purpose, values and guidelines provided.  The submitted work will be posted on our site and the visitor will be invited to vote on them.  The Joobi team will make the final decision.  The results will be announced January 1st 2007.  Please submit your work to: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

    •    The logo: need to be a minimum size of 200px by 200px (please also provide a thumbnail of 50x50 )

    •    The template would need to be conform to the latest web standards.  Please read the detailed specification for the template at the end of this document.

Some suggestions:
We love the four colors used by Joomla since it is a powerful way to convey multi-culture and cross communications values.  We design software which run in Joomla CMS so we would like to stay as close as possible to Joomla and by all means keeping our own identify as well.

Deadline for submissions:
The contest will run until December 1st, 2006, mid-nigh (GMT).

Rewards:
There will be two winners: one for the logo design and one for the template design. Each winner will be rewarded with:
    •    $100 ( USD ), if you win both contest you will win a total of $200 ( USD )

    •    Visibility and promotion on Joobi and Acajoom websites
    •    Promotion in our newsletters
    •    Priority on future work for product specific design

Last note:
We are looking for a logo to create a brand as well as a partnership with a creative designer who shares similar values.

Template specifications:

The functionalities we are looking for are close to what you can see on Acajoom.com site.
We would like a top menu (with drop downs for specific submenu)
We want a 3 columns fluid template with main column on the right and optional column on the left.
We like roundness , simplicity and efficiency.
We are definitely open to new ideas
The template needs to be light weight and load fast.
