First batch then stalled - 2008/06/28 02:09 I've read the thread on this issue earlier but I'm not clear on what I do other then buy Plus. Will I have to resend to the first 40 people that received the newsletter before it stalled? Is there any way to try again now changing the settings first without repeating a send?

Can you just select which ones from the list you don't want to send to? Can you do that with the free version?

What happened is it was set to send 40, wait 2 minutes, etc. and it sent the 40 and then stalled at around the 90 second mark.

With the free version, there isn't solution. If the sending process fails, you have to send again the newsletter from the beginning of your subscribers list.

There's more informations on our official documentation :

Unfortunately, this feature isn't implemented. So no, it isn't possible.

Don't forget there's a timeout in PHP. Most part of time, the default value is 30s.
So, if you define 2 min and your PHP configuration allow you 60s, it'll stop.

Also, I advise you to define a pause of 10 or 20 seconds.

Is it available on another version?

I've been told that sending a large number of emails with out a gap in between can trigger an ISP to identify the mailing as spam and then be shut down. 20 sec. seems to be a pretty short period of time. Either way why put and pause if just 20 sec.

I thought your response was in reference to the original question which was about the free version and obliquely implying that one of the other versions had the feature. Also, the official documentation doesn't cover what software doesn't do which I guess is why I couldn't find my answer there.

So if your mail out fails for whatever reason at 7000 out of 8000, you'll have to resend to 7000 people or skip 1000? Subscribers won't be happy with that. Is there a work around?
