acajoom free stops after 3 or 4 postings - 2008/05/09 16:36 Hi - I have a problem when using Acajoom.
The script stops during sending a mailing.
I am using Acajoom News 1.2.3
30 Sec. pause after 65 eMails
Acajoom-Timeout 6000
After 3, max. 4 sendings the page is not loadaing anymore...
I have tried this SMTP and Sendmail...
Using Firefox the network.http.keep-alive.timeout was set on 300, later I change to 3000 without success...

Re:acajoom free stops after 3 or 4 postings - 2008/05/10 01:23 Hi
I changed the version, but after 120 seconds the script stops - may I have to change a bit in the php.ini ?

Re:acajoom free stops after 3 or 4 postings - 2008/05/10 01:40 How many subscribers do you have ?
If you have more than 300 subscribers, I advise you to use our commercial versions in order that if there's an error, the send process will be resumes from the last sent email and not restarted from the beginning.
There's more informations at this address :
http://www.acajoom.com/content/view/7866/93/#autosendprocess

You can try to reduce the pause to 10s and define the sending emails to 60.

Re:acajoom free stops after 3 or 4 postings - 2008/05/10 02:46 Hi again
and first of all thanks for all the fast answers!

I run the page and the list (1600 users) for a small uncommercial club, so the commercial version would be fine - but a bit to much money for the club...

Maybe the limitation to 2 minutes at the php.ini or the server is the reason for the stop of loading?

Re:acajoom free stops after 3 or 4 postings - 2008/05/10 03:17 Ok, I see.

My advise is to change your php.ini and define the timeout to 300 seconds (5 min).
You have to know that if you use the SMTP server, the sending emails takes more time, more that the PHP mail function.
You can set the timeout to 600 seconds (10 min) to be sure.

Nevertheless, during this time you must wait the end of the process.
With Acajoom Plus or PRO, if you schedule a newsletter, a cron task will do the work more safely and you'll be able to turn off your PC without wait.
As I said, if the sending process fails, the cron task will resume it from the latest sent email.

You can try our Plus version.
