[SOLVED] only sends to first batch (Sending Settings) - 2008/02/06 02:59 Hello,

I'm new to Acajoom & it seemed to work brilliantly for my first mailout (I only had 30 subscribers).

My second mailout was supposed to go to 90 subscribers however it only went to the first 50.

My Sending Settings are as follows:

Pause x seconds every configured amount of emails
61

Emails between pauses
50

Wait for user input at pause
NO

Script timeout
120

on my main Joomla admin...
Admin Session Lifetime: 15000

I'm not too techy but it's as if it sent the first lot & then didn't start up again.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Carley

Re:only sends to first batch (Sending Settings) - 2008/02/06 17:51 Hello Carley,

It seems like your server doesn't allow Acajoom to wait 61 seconds after Acajoom sent 50 e-mails, even if the time out is set at 120 (some servers doesn't allow to modify the time out by a component...).

There is a simple reason for that, the time limit of your server which is often only 30 seconds. That means Acajoom will be able to send e-mails during 30 seconds or 1 minute (depending on your server configuration).

Anyway, there is several option to fix that :
If you don't have huge Mailing lists (less than 300 subscribers), I would recommend you to keep your free version and configure Acajoom with :

Pause x seconds every configured amount of emails
5

Emails between pauses
400

Wait for user input at pause
NO

Script timeout
0

That means Acajoom will try to send 400 e-mails in one time and wait 5 seconds... So in fact, Acajoom will try to send all your e-mails and will never stop the process if you have less than 400 subscribers in your list.
This system will work if you have less subscribers in your list than the e-mail restrictions on your server...

Let me explain :
Some servers don't allow to send more than 300 e-mails/hour... so if you try to send 400 e-mails, your server will return an error and won't send the e-mail. We developed Acajoom Plus and PRO to avoid any problem like that and go through any server limitation.

Re:only sends to first batch (Sending Settings) - 2008/04/11 23:19 Hi,

I have had a similiar problem, not the first time I sent the newletter with 320 addresses, but only the second time with same parameters (20 seconds pause, 20 emails, timeout 60).

Acjoom curiously stopped after 300 during the counts of the 20 seconds pause. It was at the precise moment I tried to scroll the current Firefox windows displaying the progress.

I tried to resend the Newsletter and Acajoom stopped after a count of 19 emails, which could signify it sent to the missing address from the first sending, but I have no way to see if since in both cases I didn't received the report email, and the Newsletter is still displaying as not published in the Newsletter list.

Any idea ???

I would also be ready to upgrade the the Plus or Pro versions, but I'm a little scared since I changed various files to update french translation and make it bilingual english/french as well as changing CSS to integrate to the website. Also I spent quite some time installing the free version since it wasn't straightforward; I had to look into forums and install manually the module and plug-in.
Do the Plus/Pro version gives us a direct support.

Thank you. Stéphane

Re:only sends to first batch (Sending Settings) - 2008/04/11 23:33 Hello Stephane,

You can try to check it by clicking on the button "Process Queue" : http://www.acajoom.com/content/view/7872/93/#send

Re:only sends to first batch (Sending Settings) - 2008/04/11 23:58 Hello and thank you for your suggestion.

I don't see a "send Queue" button; I think it comes only on the Plus/Pro version and scheduled task ?

I have a "Send" button though (Acajoomi s in french for me = "Envoyer") but I'm afraid to click if Acajoom send the newletter to all my subscribers again.

I looked into the queue table in phpMyAdmin and all my 346 entries are there with a bunch 0f 000 in the date field. What does that mean ??? I tried the SQL query to empty the queue table (DELETE FROM jos_acajoom_queue WHERE send_date != 0 but nothing happens.

Any other ideas ???
