Acajoom Plus Problems - 2007/02/06 01:05 I am experienceing a number of problems with AcaJoom Plus and need to find out if there are any resolutions.

1) I sent out a newsletter on Friday to all my subscribers. Over the next two days, all of the them recived that exact newsletter twice more. I only sent this newsletter once. I have received a number number of complaints that I am spamming my subscribers.

2) I received an unsubscribe notice eventhough I did not unsubscribe.

3) In order to get the auto-responder to work, I was told to set up a cron job. The auto repsonder is now periodically sending the same email repeatedly throughout the week. I don't want the auto responder to send anything out periodically, I just want to send out a welcome letter when someone subscribes.

Because I am receiving complaints that I am spamming my subscribers to death, I removed the cron job, and unpublished all the newsletters and auto-responders and have been sending out the updates manually. Please help!

Thanks!

Re:Acajoom Plus Problems - 2007/02/06 05:51 Tom,

We would like to look at your case in more details. Could you contact me through the support email or the one you received the order.

Re:Acajoom Plus Problems - 2007/02/13 04:52 I have narrowed down the duplicate mailing issue. Someone keeps going to the

index.php?option=com_acajoom&act=cron page.

Every time someone visits that link, the last mailing unpublishes itself and sends out another set of emails.

I currently have the Acajoom cron set to send out a max of 1 email so it won't continuously spam people throughout the week, but how do I turn this feature off?

It seems to me that this could be a security issue. I could literally go to any site that Acajoom Plus is installed and wreak havoc by repeatedly hitting this link. Talk about a DOS attack waiting to happen. Any plans to fix this?

Thanks!

Re:Acajoom Plus Problems - 2008/06/18 18:13 I have the same problem - how did you set the acajoom to send out a max of 1 email?

I use JCron for the cron job, and noticed that everybody got three emails for the same sending - I guess that's because JCron run the cron command every time anyone logged into the site.

Re:Acajoom Plus Problems - 2008/06/18 21:31 Hello hstrom,

I highly advise you to remove JCron and to use a real cron service. You can use our free cron task (http://www.joobisoft.com)

JCron is not a good component at all as it's based on user visits.
*** Please, read our official documentation before posting. Thank you ***
