SOLVED! "You are not authorized" - 2008/04/04 21:56 I have been struggling with the free version of Acajoom when offering subscritions to unregistered users. Registrations were met with the dreaded "You are not autorized...." and "You must log in".

After doodling with various settings, I found the culprit: The ItemID setting under the miscellanous tab in Configuration.

This is set to 99 as default, but on one of my Joomla Installations this conflicted with something protected (no idea what) and excluded the random user from registering or changing their subscrition.

I tried varoius settings and ended successfully on the number 90 (still no idea why). So until another mysterious module hijacks this ItemID for secrecy purposes, it all works like clockwork. NIIIICE!!!

Re:SOLVED! "You are not authorized" - 2008/04/18 08:20 Hi all,

I've got the same problem and setting the ItemID to 90 doesn't solve it in my case. Would be great if we could get a perhaps more logical approach because with all trial and error options it is difficult for me to look at the right place.

Disappointing though, because all link testing worked from the backend since I was always logged in. Now I have to deal with a lot of unhappy customers...

I am using Acajoom Pro 2.03 on Joomla 1.0.15.

Thanks for your input in advance!!

Re:SOLVED! "You are not authorized" - 2008/04/18 18:52 Hello Matthias,

It seems you have a menu with the Itemid=99 and with restricted rights. This blocks the Acajoom module. So, when your subscribers try to have access to Acajoom module, they are redirected to a page for the unauthorized access.

You can try to have access to the Acajoom module with an other Itemid like 999.

First, try with this url :
http://<your_joomla>/index.php?option=com_acajoom&itemid=99

And with this :
http://<your_joomla>/index.php?option=com_acajoom&itemid=999

To solve it to the long term, you have to change the Itemid to 999. All new newsletters will have the Itemid=999.

If your subscribers want to unsubscribe to an old newsletter, you have to find the menu with the Itemid=99 and set to a public access. It's the short term solution before the long term solution.
